We look forward to meeting you!
When you arrive, we will give you a tour of our state of the art facility and introduce you to our friendly and professional Complete Health Dentistry team members. After a detailed review of your health history, we perform a comprehensive exam that will last about 2 hours and will include the following:
Healthy Mouth Baseline
As advocates for your overall wellness, we will review our minimum health standards for your mouth, gums and teeth. We will also educate you on healthy habits you can utilize every day to improve your oral and systemic well-being.
Digital Radiographs
This digital technology eliminates 90% of the radiation found in traditional x-rays and instantly projects the image on the computer screen. We will review your radiographs and share with you any concerns that we identify.
Visual Examination and Intra-Oral Camera Tour
The use of digital photography provides a visual detail of the condition of your mouth and helps in the early detection of problems. These intra-oral pictures are used for precise diagnosis and patient education. Once patients can see what is going on in their mouths, they can make informed decisions on treatment and preventative actions. We will chart and evaluate all of your existing dental work. In addition, we will examine your teeth for cavities, fractures or wear.
Evaluation of Gums
We will examine your gums for gum disease and inform you if the presence of disease exists, as well as the associated risk, treatment, and prognosis.
Review the Type of Needed Cleaning or Gum Therapy
Based on our findings, we will recommend and explain the type of cleaning or gum therapy that is most appropriate for you based on the current health of your teeth and gum tissue.
Head and Neck Oral Cancer Screening
We will perform a thorough cancer screening of your head and neck, including soft tissues, lymph nodes and surrounding areas.
TMJ Joint Evaluation
Dr. Barnes will perform a simple TMJ exam which will evaluate for any abnormalities in your bite, jaw joints and associated muscles. Please notify us if you have previously had any issues with joint pain or popping or clicking in your jaw joints.
Review of Findings
Following the collection of all this information, we will either present the information to you at this appointment or if the information requires further analysis, we will set up a consultation appointment to review our findings.
At Elegant Dentistry, we want our patients to be informed about their dental health, because research shows that disease in the mouth can be linked with higher risks of heart disease, diabetes, cancer and other systemic disease. We focus on the little things that affect the complete wellness of our patients because we truly care.
