Overview

Get stunning dental veneers in Richfield at Elegant Dentistry. Dr. Zaben creates natural-looking transformations you’ll love.

Dental veneers in Greater Akron and Greater Cleveland offer one of the most dramatic yet natural-looking ways to transform teeth that are stained, chipped, misaligned, or just don’t look the way you want them to. These thin porcelain shells cover the front surface of your teeth, completely changing their color, shape, and size in the process. At Elegant Dentistry, Dr. Zaben crafts custom veneers that blend seamlessly with your smile while addressing multiple cosmetic concerns at once.

The right veneers don’t look like dental work at all. They simply make you look like someone who was born with great teeth.

How Veneers Actually Work

Think of veneers as a permanent makeover for your front teeth. Each shell is custom-made from dental porcelain to match your desired shade and shape. Your dentist removes a thin layer of enamel from your tooth—usually less than a millimeter—so the veneer sits flush with your other teeth instead of looking bulky or fake.

After preparing your teeth, your dentist takes detailed impressions and sends them to a dental lab where skilled technicians fabricate your veneers. This process takes a couple of weeks, and you’ll wear temporary veneers during this time so you’re never stuck with exposed teeth. Once your permanent veneers arrive, your dentist bonds them securely to your prepared teeth using special adhesive and a curing light.

The result is a restoration that becomes part of your tooth structure, not something that sits on top of it. Properly placed veneers feel completely natural when you run your tongue over them.

Problems That Veneers Can Fix

Dental veneers solve multiple cosmetic issues that would otherwise require several different treatments. They’re particularly effective for concerns that affect several teeth or problems that other procedures can’t fully address.

Discoloration: Some stains go too deep for whitening to fix, especially gray or brown discoloration from tetracycline antibiotics, excessive fluoride, or root canal treatment. Veneers cover these stubborn stains completely, giving you a bright white shade that doesn’t respond to the factors that originally darkened your teeth.

Chips and Cracks: Minor to moderate damage on front teeth shows prominently when you smile or talk. Veneers restore the smooth, intact appearance of healthy enamel while protecting the damaged area from further wear.

Gaps and Spacing: Small gaps between teeth can be closed with veneers that are slightly wider than your natural teeth. This approach works well for one or two gaps but isn’t ideal for widespread spacing issues, which might be better addressed with orthodontics.

Size and Shape: Teeth that look too small, too short, or oddly shaped can be resized and reshaped with veneers. Worn-down teeth from grinding also regain their proper proportions, making you look younger and improving your bite.

Minor Misalignment: Veneers can make slightly crooked or rotated teeth appear straight without braces. This only works for minor positioning issues—significant crowding or bite problems still require orthodontic treatment.

The Veneer Process From Start to Finish

Getting dental veneers in Greater Akron and Greater Cleveland typically requires three appointments spread over a few weeks. Understanding what happens at each visit helps you know what to expect.

Consultation and Planning

Your first appointment focuses on evaluation and design. Your dentist examines your teeth, discusses your goals, and determines whether veneers are the right solution. They’ll take photos and possibly create a wax model or digital mockup showing how your new smile could look.

This is when you make important decisions about shade and shape. Your dentist considers your skin tone, facial features, and preferences to recommend options that will look natural and flattering. You can choose bright Hollywood white or a more subtle shade that simply looks healthy and clean.

Preparation Appointment

During the second visit, your dentist prepares your teeth by removing a thin layer of enamel. This part requires local anesthesia to keep you comfortable. After shaping each tooth, your dentist takes precise impressions that capture every detail. These impressions go to the lab along with specifications about shade, size, and shape.

Temporary veneers protect your prepared teeth while the permanent ones are being made. These temporaries won’t look quite as good as the finals, but they prevent sensitivity and let you function normally.

Bonding Appointment

When your custom veneers return from the lab, you come in for final placement. Your dentist checks the fit, shape, and color of each veneer before permanently bonding them. Minor adjustments can still be made at this stage if needed.

The bonding process involves cleaning your teeth, applying adhesive, placing each veneer carefully, and using a special light to harden the bond. Your dentist removes excess cement, checks your bite, and polishes everything smooth. The entire process takes a few hours, depending on how many veneers you’re getting.

When Veneers Might Not Be the Answer

Veneers work beautifully for cosmetic improvements, but they’re not the right choice in every situation. Teeth with large fillings, extensive decay, or structural damage need crowns for adequate support. Severely misaligned teeth or significant bite problems require orthodontic correction first.

People who grind their teeth heavily might crack veneers repeatedly unless they consistently wear a nightguard. In these cases, crowns made from stronger materials might be more practical. Your dentist evaluates your specific situation and recommends the treatment most likely to give you lasting results.

Veneers can completely transform how you look and feel about your smile. That hesitation before laughing in photos disappears. Every time I visit I am greeted by a very pleasant and lovely receptionist which makes the visit all worth wild. The dental technician who performs the cleaning is very professional, friendly and always willing to listen to one of my stories. It then comes time for the Dentist to perform the final checkup. Well today nothing was really pressing but we have set a few concerns to keep an eye on. If anything should become more of a concern the Office will always be just a phone call away and help will be shortly afterwards. Don't forget to pet Rocky at your next visit he is a great little guy.

I can’t say enough good things about this clinic. The space itself is beautiful, calming, and so thoughtfully designed — from the affirmations jar to the little quotes everywhere, it’s truly full of soul and love. You don’t feel like you’re at a dentist’s office at all. From the receptionist to the dental assistant to the doctor, every single person I interacted with made me feel seen, cared for, and completely at ease. Everyone was so kind, professional, and incredibly well-presented. Dr. Zaben was thorough, gentle, and genuinely passionate about what she does. You can tell this isn’t “just a job” for her — she really cares about her patients. I left feeling calm, confident, and so grateful for how reassuring the whole experience was. They even sent me home with a cute little bag with my aftercare instructions neatly packed — such a thoughtful touch! If you’re someone who usually dreads dental visits, this place will change that. You’ll actually feel at peace being here.
